The ground floor has a living with antique Asian decorations including Balinese, Indian and Thai wood carvings, old postcards of Hua Hin and a temple mural painting. The wooden-countertop kitchen island is perfect for sharing a breakfast prepared in the fully equipped kitchen. There is a second shower downstairs, as well as a toilet. The wide front terrace's lounge chairs overlooks a lush garden with frangipani trees, banana palms, tropical herbs etc., and has a table seating up to six for outside dining.
The bed room has a floor of tropical hardwood and a high ceiling with indirect lighting. Sliding panels can divide this room in two, offering privacy both for those staying in the queen-size bed on the one side and the comfortable double sofa bed on the other. Each side has down duvets and pillows, ceiling fans and A/C. There is a stylish shower room, a toilet and a curtained-off closet. A lazy chair on the balcony out front overlooks temple-dotted hills in the distance.
Guest Access
The house will be available for your exclusive enjoyment (please allow my maid to tend to the garden, though).
Interaction with Guests
I live in Bangkok during the week but spend most weekends in Hua Hin, so we might meet there. If I'm not, you can reach me anytime and also contact my manager to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
I have left a guide for the house & the neighbourhood, with tips for restaurants and sightseeing, so you can enjoy the place like a local.
I have a manager who speaks English and who will help you settle in. She is on call to respond to your needs throughout your stay.
My maid normally comes in from Thursday to Monday to clean (unless you prefer her not to) and take care of the garden.
The Neighborhood
The neighbourhood is very close to the sea and near to local temples and beaches. There are some minimarkets and local shops for necessities, as well as a lot of basic local eateries.
Cicada market is 1.4km away and Vana Nava water park 2.4. I'm from Khao Takieb myself, and for my guests I have compiled a list of some of my favourite sights-to-see and restaurants in Hua Hin and around.
Getting Around
We have a few bicycles for your use: Cicada market (north, or left at the start of the soi) and Khao Takieb (south, or right at the start of the soi) are each about 5 minutes' cycling (and it's easier to park bicycles there than a car!).
Cheap songthaew (public transportation pick-up trucks) come and go very regularly on the road between Hua Hin town and Khao Takieb, right outside our lane ('soi' in Thai), charging a flat THB 10 rate (THB 15 from 19-21h). For full details, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) 'how to take songthaews hua hin'.
Tuk-tuks and motorcycle taxis are also available. We can recommend you trustworthy local providers.
You can park your car in the street in front of the house.
Other Things to Note
I'm proud of the fact that my house was the subject of feature articles in Elle Decoration (Jan '15), daybeds magazine (Feb '16), as well as articles in Home & Resort, Art4D, etc.
